United through folk tales: A 21st century performance

Kurzbeschreibung:

Pupils will examine folk stories from their own country and present one or two at the first project meeting. Together, they will then look at the differences and similarities between different countries' folk tales and choose one or two which they will then work on as a dramatic production, devising the necessary script, music, dances etc. They will then bring the storyline of their chosen tale into the 21st century, seeking to incorporate themes of relevance and interest to young people, and produce an updated theatrical version of their tale which will be filmed for production as a DVD.
